Please attend the San Rafael Planning Commission Meeting on Thursday, November 12th at 7pm to discuss the Draft General Plan 2040.

This meeting will cover Chapters 10-14 of the Draft General Plan 2040 which includes the following elements: Mobility, Community Services, Infrastructure, Arts & Culture, Economic Vitality, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. A prior hearing on Chapters 1-9 took place on October 27.

The purpose of each hearing is to receive initial public comments on the Draft General Plan chapters.

Why is this important to RGM?

The General Plan, which has a time horizon of about 20 years, provides San Rafael's vision for its future, including policies for growth and conservation.

The General Plan 2040 will be the governing model for San Rafael (including Northgate Mall) for the next 20 years. As such, it's important we stay engaged and advocate for community-based and neighborhood-oriented development.

The city encourages community participation and has created a comprehensive portal to inform residents about Draft Plan 2040 before it is officially adopted.
