Dear RGM Supporters,

On October 29th, 2024, the Planning Commission held an in-person meeting on the Northgate Project which RGM and members of our community attended. RGM and many members of the community spoke at the meeting and also submitted emails and letters. 

On November 11th, RGM sent an email (please view a copy here) to all of our Supporters with a recap of the meeting and a SAVE THE DATES of Monday, December 2nd and Monday, December 16th, when the City Council will discuss the Northgate Project. These meetings will be the first time the City Council reviews this very complex project in a public meeting, and will likely instruct City staff to finalize the documents.

RGM’s attorney also attended the October 29 Planning Commission meeting and made verbal comments about the Northgate Project. She has now followed up with a formal letter to the City and Council Members.

We urge you to read our attorney’s Letter Concerning the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Northgate Mall Redevelopment Project and the October 29, 2024 Planning Commission Meeting. This letter can be found here or can be read in full below.

RGM and its attorney determined that many of the City’s responses in the Final EIR were either incomplete or incorrect. Our attorney discussed in detail the following issues in the letter:

• I: The City Selected an Environmental Baseline for the EIR Inconsistent with CEQA

• II: The Requested Additional Traffic Measures

• III: The Requested Construction Manager

• IV: The Requested Additional Noise and Dust Mitigation

RGM is asking that the City and Council Members consider these longstanding and well documented concerns and require the Developer to make the above-described concessions.
