NORTHGATE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT UPDATE

Dear Supporters,

On Tuesday, September 24th, many community neighbors attended the Planning Commission Study Session to discuss the Northgate Redevelopment Project.

Although we are pleased that the developer offered improvements to the plan based on community comments and public meetings over the last several years, many attendees expressed serious concerns that remain outstanding including: 

• Noise

• Traffic

• Density and height…how much is too much???

• Emissions and pollution

• Emergency access and evacuations 

• Shortage of police and fire resources to accommodate the increase in new residents

We thank those who attended the meeting, wrote public comments and showed their commitment and dedication to making this project the best it can be for our beautiful community.

WHAT’S NEXT? IMPORTANT DATES…

Monday, October 14th

• Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) is expected to be made public

Tuesday, October 29th, Planning Commission meeting (in person): SAVE THE DATE! 

• The environmental documents, project entitlements, and land use permits are expected to be presented for recommendation to the City Council

Monday, November 18th, City Council meeting (in person): SAVE THE DATE! 

• Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) final approval meeting

As the finalization of the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) moves towards completion, we urge you to look for RGM emails with meeting updates and important information.

RGM will be holding an in-person Supporters Meeting to discuss the Northgate Redevelopment Project in mid-October. Please be on the lookout for our email with details.

STAY ENGAGED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Please mark your calendars to attend all in person meetings and stay involved and active to have your voices heard. Our input has always had the greatest effect when in-person attendance is high! 

There is still time for us to influence this project but we need consistent huge turn-outs and letter writing to make lasting impressions on the decision-makers.
